Life-Together ("we," "our," or "us") is a community app designed for faith-based groups. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and web service.
By using Life-Together, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate Life-Together and provide its core community and event coordination features. We do not collect data for advertising or tracking purposes.
When you create an account, we collect:
Parents or guardians with the Babysitter role may create babysitter profiles for minors within their account. These profiles do not create independent user accounts. The information collected for each babysitter profile is limited to:
This information is provided and managed entirely by the parent or guardian and is used solely for babysitting event coordination within the group.
If you use household features, we collect:
When you participate in groups, we store content you create, including:
Babysitter profiles do not independently generate content. Parents or guardians may sign babysitter profiles up for event roles, and those event associations are stored as part of group event data.
Parents or guardians with the Babysitter role may choose whether to share their contact information (such as phone number and email) with other group members. By default, contact information is visible only to group administrators. If you enable contact sharing, your contact information becomes visible to all members of your group.
If you enable push notifications, we collect:
We accept image and video uploads (up to 50 MB per file) for profile photos, chat messages, group photos, and shared resources. These files are stored securely in cloud storage infrastructure controlled by Life-Together.
We use the information we collect to:
Babysitter profile data is used exclusively for babysitting event coordination within your group. It is not used for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to event management.
Life-Together uses the following third-party services:
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We do not track users across apps or websites, and we do not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes.
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and file storage on our servers. We use industry-standard security measures including:
Access to personal data within Life-Together is restricted based on group membership and user roles.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
We retain your personal information and user-generated content for as long as your account remains active. Babysitter profile data is retained for as long as the parent or guardian maintains the profile or their account. If you delete your account, your data, including any babysitter profiles you manage, is permanently removed or anonymized according to your selected deletion option. Backup copies may persist for a limited period solely for disaster recovery purposes and are automatically deleted thereafter.
You can leave any group at any time from the group's home screen. When leaving a group, you choose one of three options for your content within that group:
Your content choices when leaving apply only to the specific group you are leaving. Content in other groups you belong to is not affected.
If you rejoin a group you previously left and chose to keep your content (anonymously or with your name), your preserved content is automatically reconnected to your account. This uses the same email-based identification described in the Content Relinking section below.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. When deleting your account, you choose one of three options:
In all cases, your account is removed from our database and your Firebase Authentication account is deleted. Group memberships, household links, family member records, babysitter profiles, and notification tokens are permanently deleted.
If you previously left a group and chose to keep your content, then later delete your account with "delete all content," your preserved content from those groups is also permanently deleted. Account deletion with "delete all content" overrides any prior leave-group content preservation choices.
If you chose to keep your content (anonymously or with your name) -- whether when leaving a group or deleting your account -- and later rejoin the same group or create a new account with the same email address, your previous content will be automatically reconnected to your account. This is done using a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of your email address stored alongside your content. The hash cannot be reversed to reveal your email.
Content you post within a group is visible to all members of that group. This includes your name, profile photo, messages, prayers, events, polls, resources, and comments. Group administrators and moderators may have additional visibility into group membership and management features.
Babysitter profile information (name and age) may be visible to group members in the context of babysitting event assignments. The parent or guardian's contact information is shared with group members only if the parent or guardian has enabled contact sharing; otherwise, it is visible only to group administrators.
Life-Together is intended for adults. All user accounts require full Firebase authentication and must belong to an adult (18 years of age or older). The App does not create accounts for minors, and minors cannot independently log in, access, or interact with the App.
Parents or guardians who join a group through a babysitter invitation link receive the Babysitter role. Parents or guardians with this role may create and manage babysitter profiles for minors within their account. These profiles:
Babysitter profile data is limited to:
This data is managed entirely by the parent or guardian. The parent or guardian may update or delete babysitter profile information at any time. All babysitter profile data is automatically deleted when the parent or guardian removes the profile, leaves the group, or deletes their account.
By creating a babysitter profile for a minor, the parent or guardian represents that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that they otherwise have permission from the parent or guardian to provide the minor's information for event coordination purposes.
Adult account holders may add family member information (such as names, relationships, and birthdates) within the App's household features. This family member data is provided and managed entirely by the adult account holder. It is used solely within private group and household features and is deleted when the adult account holder removes it or deletes their account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or under the applicable age in your jurisdiction) or allow children to create accounts. All minor-related data within the App is provided by and managed through the parent or guardian's account. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information directly from a child, please contact us at privacy@life-together.app and we will promptly delete it.
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
